don't have permissions on files I want to delete


hi,
I tried to empty my trash but it says I don't have permission for some of the files, how do I change permissions on them so that I can

presuming the trash can is
~/.trash
(usually is)
Code:
sudo chmod a+rwx ~/.trash -R
that will add Read Write and eXecute permission for All Recursively in the home directorys .trash folder

Or since you're just going to delete them, save yourself a step by using sudo to delete the files as superuser.
Code:
sudo rm -rd ~/.trash/*

edit: corrected /trash/ to /.trash/
