Using Ubuntu Dapper Drake I somehow lost my ability to update the system.
The message Http://kde/ubuntu.com is not known on first line 1 source list /etc/apt/sources.list. What is causing this? How do you edit files and directories using a terminal? Thanks
It sounds like that is the wrong address for the kubuntu repositories. Did you follow this guide? Make sure your sources.list matches the one in the guide.
I manually added the Dapper repositories and had the same problem. There was some kind of BS extra character that was somehow added. When I removed that, everything worked fine.
That link will help you create a sources list. Be careful regarding the repos that you choose though and you might need to deal with GPG keys but there are directions at the top of the list.
Could you possibly use helpful thread titles in future please? Don't use "Urgent" in titles either, as your thread is no more urgent than anyone else's and also people can only respond when they have the time to do so.
