LOL, thanks everyone for the help. Unfortunately Im uber newb and was fooled by someone less useful. His code scramble my comp's brain and had to reformat! KDe is a pain in my @$$, GNOME is less visually appealing, but it's much more user friendly, I think I'll stick with that. There are options right in the menu. thx again.

I had the same issue ... no Touchpad tab in Mouse settings.
I have an EeePC901-Linux with Eeebuntu 2.0 NBR (Ubuntu 8.10 Remix).

I have solved the issue for this type of system, at least it works for me.

I'll post the URL in the next response.

Go to System then Preferences, there you will find Mouse.

Someone said it was in Administration, maye you didn't check!

Works fine, disables it for tyoing, which is when it's a drag.

On the point of xorg.conf: I would like to know where Ubuntu sticks it's conf. My xorg.conf is empty, and changes I have tried have never made even the slightest difference. Does it read gdm.conf, or where does it get it's info from?
IN Debian, it is the xorg.conf that tells X what and how. And Ubuntu is nearly Debian. It does, must, use a conf file, right?

/etc/X11/xorg.conf
