delays at bootup and something using 100% of CPU

New to this. Intalled Lubuntu and had problems with long boot delays. Most of them are cleared up.

Is there a list of errors and error codes I can get? I can't seem to see what causes the problems I'm having.

The task manager lists programs that are running and supposedly how much of the CPU they are using. Something uses 100% of the CPU quite often causing delays but I can't see what. Is there some kind of list that would show me what is using the CPU at those times?

Here is a dump of some of the minor delays I'm having now at boot.

I don't understand broken pipe or how to deal with it.

Thanks for any help possible.

Thanks smallpond! Top works a lot better than the task manager for looking at CPU usage. I had already eliminated the software updater from running automatically. (I think that was my gravy sucking pig as I haven't noticed much 100 CPU action since.)
