Dapper Beta2 - what actually is new?

I recently installed Ubuntu Dapper Beta2 on my slow machine(1Ghz,256 RAM) and I noticed that it runs pretty fast. It is actually about the same speed as Breezy is on my 2.6G/900M RAM. Anyone know how they got it to get that much faster?

Well, for one, GNOME is way lighter and I think it has better memory management. I have 1.2Hhz Athlon and 726MB RAM and it's way faster than breezy on the same machine.
Here are some of the changes the have made https://wiki.ubuntu.com/dapperbeta

yes 2.14 gnome is much faster than 2.12. They made great strides in speeding up nautilus, gnome-terminal, etc. Also being beta, they may not have turned on a lot of junk that the final version has to be more user friendly. Id bet it is gnome though.

I am actually partial to KDE myself but havent had the chance to install that yet. Isnt it KDE 3.5 this time around?

Nine days and the Dapper should be completed and out on the mirrors. I found Dapper really nice but decided to reinstall Breezy becuase did not want to spoil the final version.
