Custom voice recording

When I had Windows, they had software that could create a voice from text.

I could use my microphone, but my voice is not that great.

Any ideas ?

Thanks scholars,gentlemen, and ladies. :-)

I would suggest that you check out espeak: http://espeak.sourceforge.net/

It's as simple as:
Code:

espeak -f espeak.txt
The "standard" voice can be tweaked a lot into something that sounds more like an actual human voice. Check out the -p and -s switches in particular. Read man espeak for all the info.

Best regards,
HMW

thanks.

The voice is a little too robotic and I would like a female voice.

pico2wave is pretty darn realistic and being free ain't bad either. :-)
