The DVD copied successfully (I think). I removed all the K3B application and K9copy. I reinstalled both, and had lunch; after lunch, I made sure the temp file for K9copy was large enough, and K3b had "growfs" (Synaptic offers more choices when adding an application). K9copy copied my source DVD and wrote to my destination DVD writer; still, I cannot look at the properties of the burned DVD. K3B even shows the movie title when I look at each one to view the content.
I give up, all I wanted was a distro with the ability to add java and flash because my online searches are best viewed with either program.
In my past, I've run SuSE, Fedora, MEPIS,and Debian. My first crack at Linux was Mandrake 7.xxx. I'm not thrilled by the new Mandriva, and I've
not tried Mint, yet. I really liked Fedora and SuSE; I also have 2+ weeks more to complete this project; so, I'll examine both competitors to Ubuntu, before installing one of them.
I'll be fine in the end....
