Pls WHAT & WHY are these coloured, zigzag lines on my screen? (see attached photo)
I'm running Ubuntu 11.10, using Acer V233H monitor with NVidia graphic card (driver version is 280.13).
This lines shows up when certain colours appear on my screen, when I'm watching movies, etc.
How can I make the go away?
Thank you in advance.
PS: PROBLEM 2:
This is unrelated, but I appreciate your help;
I can no longer minimize a program when I click the icon on the launcher or choose a window if two of those programs are running e.g. If two Nautilus windows are open simultaneously, before if I click on the launcher icon, it zooms out and displays the two open windows so I choose which to go to, but now it doesn't work anymore neither can I minimize a program through the launcher icon.
How can I restore this function.
Thanks.

Reason: A second problem
That is video artifacting. It can be caused by overheating video hardware, 'cooked' video hardware (overheated for so long that the damage is premanent) or driver problems.
If you just upgraded your video drivers and the problem started, its probably your drivers- either roll back the the version you had before, or get the newest drivers.
But you know what, I've been having this video artifacting issue ever since I started using Ubuntu on my PC in 2010. My PC is just 2 yrs old, one year of running MS Windows and then Linux. Before, it never appear when using Windows, but now sometimes it shows when I use SPlayer to watch movies. So now, I don't know if it's due to an overheating graphic card or a driver problem.
