Close a program and crash guard appears

Whenever I close an application, that takes some time to close, such as OpenOffice.org, by clicking the "X" in the titlebar, the GNOME crash guard application pops up telling me that the program is not responding and asks if I want to force quit it. If I ignore the pop-up, shortly thereafter the program closes and so does the pop-up. I don't think the programs are actually crashing, but I am not certain.

This only occurs for me in Ubuntu so I thought I'd post it here. Anyone know how to fix this?

I had that problem on my AMD64 after installing libflash (open source flash), which didn't work anyway. Went away after I removed libflash. OO comes tightly integrated with an open source java ... I'd also wonder if that might be conflicting with something. For instance, if you installed Sun Java without removing gij, I'd be suspicious of that.

Removing gij and java-gcj-compact packages seems to have fixed this probem. Thanks!
