Clock can't keep right time

My clock is not showing the right time.

Tried both manual and letting server set time.

BIOS battery is new.

What else can I check ?

I really appreciate all the help here.

No answers, but some questions that might help:

Are we talking about a drift of seconds/a few minutes or hours/lots of minutes?

If you are dual-booting, are the time settings on both sides of the computer compatible? I once had a problem between Slackware and Fedora because one was set to UTC and one to local time. I solved it by setting both to UTC the way Bob intended (and also learned my way around date and hwclock in the process).

Have you enabled NTP? https://help.ubuntu.com/lts/serverguide/NTP.html

Drift of hours.

I have seen the same behavior with Puppy Linux.

Strange, but life is that way often. :-)

This may be a coincidence, but I had no problems with my laptop with time.

Only with my new AMD system.

I reinstalled my O.S. and so far time is accurate. :-)
