Change MAC address (hwaddr) permanently
I'd like to change my mac address more permanently than through
$ifconfig eth0 hwaddr ether AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF In Fedora you had to tweak /etc/sysconfig/networks-scripts in order to do that... but where are they located in ubuntu? I have done a lot of googling but haven't come up with something useful yet. Now I have to change this every time I log in, that I think shouldn't be necessary. Also, the $ifconfig eth0 down/up doesn't work as supposed to. I have to go graphical in order to get the new hwaddr to work, or else I can't connect. What's this? |
See "man interfaces" ....specifically the "up" and "pre-up" options for /etc/network/interfaces
