Can't change screen resolution from 1280x1064 to 1024x768

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hi, when I go into System, Preferences, Screen Resolution, to change the default setting from 1280x1064 to 1024x768 it allows me to do so, but always changes it back to the original setting. How can I get it to stay at the setting I want? I'm running 6.06 and using a 17" crt monitor. Thanks.
