cannot install amule from synaptic/apt-get

hi,

I am running Ubuntu Hoary with no real issues with installing software with either synaptic or apt-get, except for one program - amule.

I get the following error :-

jdw@homepc:~$ sudo apt-get install amule
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Recommended packages:
amule-utils
The following NEW packages will be installed:
amule
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 51 not upgraded.
Need to get 2652kB of archives.
After unpacking 7069kB of additional disk space will be used.
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
amule
Install these packages without verification [y/N]?
E: Some packages could not be authenticated
jdw@homepc:~$

I listed my repositories as per the Ubuntu Unoffical Guide, and I can install tons of other stuff, just not amule. I also tried installing a stable debian package from the debian package website, it didn't want that either...

Is there some way I can overide the authentication problem?

Thanks,

jdw

Did you answer yes when it asked to install the packages without verification?

EDIT : You might want to consider installing Java and then installing Limewire. Limewire is probably the best P2P client for Linux.

you should answer y when it asked you "Install these packages without verification [y/N]?"

or you could manually download it from http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/a/amule/

then install it : sudo dpkg -i amule_2.0.0-1_i386.deb

Hey guys,

thanks...a lesson for me here - "read CAREFULLY!"...

I "thought" the default was Y/n...doh!

cheers,

jdw

p.s. I will give Limewire a shot too...
