Can not access CD drive

Hi, I'm having a similar trouble. This is what's inside my fstab file says:

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/sda1 / ext3 errors=remount-ro 0 1
/dev/sda6 /home ext3 defaults 0 2
/dev/sda5 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto 0 0

any idea what when wrong? thanks.

In the future, I think it would be better if you started a new thread instead of replying to a thread that is almost 3 years old.

Anyway, I would ask you the same questions that are listed in this thread:
Is the optical drive listed in the computer's BIOS, and does it eject and close while in the BIOS?
Your optical drive is listed in your fstab file. Does it not work at all?
What happens when you put a data CD in the drive? Does it automount in Ubuntu?

Please reply describing in detail exactly what the problem is instead of just saying "I'm having a similar trouble".

And welcome to the LQ forums!

What linux distribution / version are you running?

Ah, it's okay now. The hardware was broken. After installing a new one, there's no problem anymore.
