Question can't update dvdrip and similar packages under adept

hi all,

i'm using kubuntu dapper its all working great but thereis something i can seem to figure out.

can i use the debian-multimedia.org repository in ubuntu/kubuntu? it seems that i can't upgrade video packages like dvd::rip, transcode etc from this one.

if i try adept tell me that it would break the package.

i installed everything from automatix. how can i upgrade packages from automatix? do i upgrade/update automatix and reinstall everything again?

thanks in advance!
