d4x probably doesn't exist in the repositories you have selected, try enabling the universe and multiverse repositories in system -> administration -> synaptic -> settings -> repositories

ok this is what i have now..

Quote:
sudo apt-get install sun-j2re1.5
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Package sun-j2re1.5 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package sun-j2re1.5 has no installation candidate

You don't have the right repositories.

Follow these directions exactly as written.
Do not deviate from them in any way.
Do not take smart shortcuts because you think you know what you're doing or add the given repositories to the ones you already have.

I repeat, follow these directions exactly (don't worry--the first command backs up your current sources.list):

http://www.psychocats.net/linux/sources.php

Then
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install d4x j2re1.4
