can't compile rp-pppoe

Hello guys,

i've a major headache trying to compile the rp-pppoe on my pc!!! I've installed Ubuntu 7.04 and tried to install the rp-pppoe.

here is what i got trying to compile it from source:
Code:
setlec@ruthlessearth:~/Desktop/rp-pppoe-3.8/src$ sudo ./configure
Password:
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
and now that's what i got from this config.log sorry to put all info in this post...
Code:
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59. Invocation command line was

  $ ./configure
