Question C++ programming in eclipse?

Hey, I'm trying to solve this problem on how to get a C++ program to run under eclipse 3.2 europa on my Ubuntu 7.10 system. I'm totally new to Linux programming and I'm so used to Visual Studio.net, but I really wanna get rid of Windows so I wanna get every program run on Linux step by step? Is there some walkthrough for debugging and running C++ programs on eclipse for Ubuntu? Or could somebody just give me some hints?

The eclipse download page has a special download for C/C++ developers. Install that http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/

Make sure you have gcc and make installed on your system.

That should be it. Just create a C++ project and create C++ files in there...

I am primarily a Java programmer, but did setup a eclipse C++ environment a few years ago. There wasn't much to it. Give it a shot, I am sure you would be able to do it.

Hi

if you have difficulties with eclipse you can also try the netbeans IDE as its also quite a popular choice

http://www.netbeans.org/

Hope this helps
