best image viewing programm in gnome?

what is the best image viewing programm is gnome? I should be able to view images from my digital camera and when i plug my camera it should automatically open the image programm and should ask me whether i want to transfer the images to a folder.

any progs?

Try F-Spot. Its written in C# so you will need to install mono.

F-Spot is available through the Synaptic Package Manager.
Just tick the install and all will be fine.

Linux and Ubuntu just keeps getting better.
