Was that error message came because you didn't give sufficient permissions ???

Did you do

$ sudo modprobe ...........

[Dont know ---- it is "operation not permitted"]

If you have bcm43xx wireless device especially bcmwl5. Then I recommend you to blacklist the native driver and use ndiswrapper instead. It is working very well in my laptop with ubuntu.

Here is my tutorial:

I hope it will help.

The bcm43xx native driver is improving, though. After having problems in the past, I installed bcm43xx-fwcutter as belowwithout having to use ndiswrapper:

Quote:
sudo apt-get install bcm43xx-fwcutter
...and it downloaded the firmware for me (so I didn't even need to use the installed fwcutter). To my great surprise, it worked flawlessly.

Just how did you install your card, Homzz? (as above?)

And can you give some error output / say exactly what happens when you try and connect to an access point?
(The lspci and iwconfig outputs seem normal...)
