Azureus filling up .xsession-errors

If I run Azureus overnight I inevitably run out of disk space due to Azureus filling up my log files with the following error:

Code:
DEBUG::Wed Apr 26 12:57:33 CDT 2006::org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.StartServer::pollForConnectionsSupport::167:
  java.lang.NullPointerException
        at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.StartServer.pollForConnectionsSupport(StartServer.java:121)
        at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.StartServer.access$000(StartServer.java:45)
        at org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.StartServer$2.runSupport(StartServer.java:104)
        at org.gudy.azureus2.core3.util.AEThread.run(AEThread.java:69)
How do I get rid of this error, or at least turn it off? Azureus seems to run just fine other than this. I am running this on fluxbox off the 5.10 version of Kubuntu.

Thank you.

Try running it with the output sent to /dev/null.

Also, I just read on Slashdot that Azureus is turning adware on us. You might want to try moving to another client anyway.

Great idea!

So...um...how do I do that? I can't figure out where the error log is being set.

Adware, huh? I wonder how adware is going to work in Linux with an open source project?

Run azureus with "> /dev/null 2>&1" on the end of the command line.

In fact, just running it at all from a terminal, instead of clicking on it, will make the log messages go to your terminal instead of into a file.

.xsession-errors is the "graveyard" for all messages that were run in X, that have nowhere else to put them.
