ASUS eee PC wifi driver needed alongwith the procedure to run drivers

I have just graduated to ubuntu after lots of years in windows. I dont know much about running drivers in linux. So I have two issues
1. Where do i get a driver for wifi of ASUS eee PC?
2. How do i run that driver?

Regards

It all depends on what driver ( they are called kernel loadable modules in linux ) you need. To find out, open a konsole, run the command 'sudo lspci' ( without the quotes ), look for the lines for your wifi card. Cut and paste those lines here. That will tell us what hardware you have. Then we go looking for the driver. ( KLM ). It may be part of your system now. If it is, a modprobe command will load it. Then you have to configure the interface.

If you still have windows installed, then you can also look in the device manager for the card you have.

Here is some info on using wireless with the eee pc on Ubuntu that may help: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EeePC/Fixes#Wireless
Post the output from the terminal of these 3 comands in CODE tags please:
Code:

sudo lshw -C network
lspci
lsmod

This will tell us what wireless device your eee pc uses and what drivers are currently running.

And welcome to the LQ forums!
