apt-get problem

Hello,

i tried to install some packages with adept manager but the computer got blocked. And I did not what to do except restart from the button.
Since then every time I want to install something with apt-get install become block again at this point:

Setting up locals (2.7.9-4)
Generating locals...
en_AU.UTF-8...

and I have to restart it again.

I heard that is something wrong with dpkg.
I have also an error like this:
dpkg is user by another program try dpkg --configure -a (something like that)

But if I try that command computer get bloked at the same point Setting up locals .....

Pls, can I do something? I don't want to reinstall kubuntu

Do you get some sort of error when it's generating locales? Because if you don't...then just wait to see if it's just taking long and not "blocking". Usually when something goes wrong with apt, you get a nice error to chew. Some things do take time that apt does. And if some package isn't "finished" and you interrupt the operation, it's usually finished the next time you do something with the package manager - dpkg's configure command (that you mentioned) and some others are needed every now and then if you manage to do wrong things at a wrong time (like reboot while apt's still processing), but usually you're instructed to run them when it's needed.

Silence without errors in Linux typically means that either something is still going on or then the job was finished successfully (but if it's still "generating" after ten hours or so, you may assume something really hang).

Also, when I go to System Settings and try to load Monitor & Display , I have this error:

The module Monitor & Display could not be loaded.

The diagnostics is:
Possible reasons:
An error occurred during your last KDE upgradeleaving an orphaned control module
You have old third party modules lying around

Check this points carefully and try to remove the module mentioned in the error message. If this fails, consider contacting your distributor or packager.

Can u tell me something from these errors?
