apt-get install fluxbox..error: couldn't find package fluxbox

Trying to install fluxbox

i've done

#apt-get update
#apt-get upgrade
#apt-get install fluxbox (as root)
and it can't find package

please help

matter of fact it seems like all the how to's i read mention an apt-get method of installing alot of packages but it only workds like 1/3 the time for me

What branch are you on? I'm not familiar with *buntu, but being Debian-based, it should be similar.

Try:

apt-cache search fluxbox

Or

Code:

dpkg -S fluxbox

Additionally you can enable bash completion, and try a tab completion on your apt-get install command.

how do i know what branch i'm on?

root@trace:/# apt-cache search fluxbox
root@trace:/#

when i do apt-cache it just returns to prompt, doesn't say anything

root@trace:/# dpkg -S fluxbox
dpkg: *fluxbox* not found

when i try the dpkg method i get not found

Did you enable the universe repositories in your /etc/apt/sources.list file?

This is how my sources.list looks right now, and it still cannot find it.
