apache2 error - namevirtualhost *:0 has no virtualhosts?

I'm trying to get my web server going and have tried to restarting apache but am getting the following error:

"namevirtualhost *:0 has no virtualhosts"

Any thoughts as to what causes this? I've set up my virtual host file in the /etc/apache2/sites-available and enabled directory's so I must be missing something obvious.

It's setup similar to this older question I found (http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...66#post2626666) but I'm not using httpd.conf at all, should I be? I thought that was only for backward compatability.

TIA

TW,

Hi.

Please post your config file so somebody could help but maybe you forget the number "8" in your first line like: NameVirtualHost *:80 because apache listens to 80 port (http) and be sure that in /etc/apache2/ports.conf there is the :
"Listen 80" line (without "") to make apache listen to port 80.

I was under the impression that if you didn't specify a port that it listened on "all" ports?

NameVirtualHost *

<VirtualHost *>

Now were talking about the actual Virtual Host file correct in the /sites-available folder? I simply copied 000-Default and renamed it to my host so I don't think it's wrong... but I'll post to be sure.

I'll verify the /etc/apache2/ports.conf and make sure port 80 is uncommented.

TW,

[EDIT]

Just checked /etc/apache2/ports.conf and it's fine.
