Wink Any chance of getting wacom artz11 6x8 serial graphic tablet working in 12.04?

I've tried the "HOW TO Set Up a Wacom Serial Tablet in Ubuntu
Lucid, Maverick, Natty, Oneiric, & Precise."
Really a confusing thread.
I did manage to get a data stream (PUTTING PEN TO TABLET) in SECOND terminal with xxd /dev/ttyS4 in Terminal one. What do I do now?
I'm very glad people are trying to get past the idea of old hardware not worth supporting but these graphics tablets are expensive. Mine would cost over $400.00 to replace.
THANKS
