Smile Alternative vs. Regular Download

I would like to install Ubuntu; however, I am not sure which I should download the regular or the alternative version of the download.

P.S. I would like to do a dual boot with Ubuntu & Win Xp Pro

Also,

Where can I find the minimum hardware requirements for Ubuntu install?

Thank you all.

Tom

Download the Alternate one--it gives less trouble, even if does look uglier.

See both in action:

I would reccomend the desktop one if it is the first time you are installing linux, why? because it comes with an easier disk partitioning tool (I personally hate the text-based partitioner).

I was very impressed with Dappers LiveCD installer, it seemed to be a lot faster on my sytem than the text based installer in Breezy and it worked flawlessly.
