Alt+PrntScrn not working in 6.10

Hello,
I'm running an automatix-updated Ubuntu 6.10. I can take a full screenshot via PrntScrn, however when I do Alt+PrntScrn, nothing happens. Nothing can be pasted, the default screenshot doesn't pop-up, nothing appears in /var/log/messages, however the keyboard shortcut shows Alt+Prntscrn as the default for taking application window screenshots. Any ideas?
TIA
