9.10 Screen lock problem

I have just upgraded to 9.10 and I should know better. My computers is running a lot slower and has browser problems.

My biggest problem is that the screen lock warning comes up about every ten minutes onj it's own and I have to enter my password to clear it.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix yet?

All i can say is i have never sucsessfully upgraded between versions on ubuntu without somthng being broken (somtimes that somthing is as key as X11 or gnome)

ive never had any problems with a clean install so thats what im planning to do when i have some spare time,
(i keep 2 partitions for ubuntu, currently one has 8.10 and one has 9.04, but these will change to 9.10 and 9.04)
