8.10 update Update Errors

Hi All

I am still rather new to the workings of Linux, I used to have a local mirror site for updates that was great.

It has since been taken off line to the public, since trying to update the sources.list file I seem to have developed a couple of errors.

Code:
Failed to fetch http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/unbuntu/dists/intrepid-updates/main/source/Sources.gz 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/unbuntu/dists/intrepid-updates/restricted/source/Sources.gz 404 Not Found
Failed to fetch http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/unbuntu/dists/intrepid/universe/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I have had a look at sources.list and cannot see anything that might be wrong here. (copied from another thread here)

Code:
deb cdrom:[Ubuntu 8.10 _Intrepid Ibex_ - Release i386 (20081029.5)]/ intrepid main restricted

Sorry for the long post but felt this information would help.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Change your mirror (let Ubuntu find them)

Also enable partner and security (last few lines).

Comment out the deb http://gb.... lines

Then reload the repo info

Smile

Hi amani thanks for the advice, not sure what you mean by letting Ubuntu take care of it?

Could you please expand on that a little?

Cheers
