Xandros, in responding to Microsoft's July 11 announcement that it will discontinue security patches and technical support for Windows 98, 98SE, and ME, is offering a 50 percent mail-in rebate to users who "upgrade" to either the Xandros Desktop Home Edition or Home Edition Premium versions of its Linux distribution.

I came here searching for this very thread!

It is tempting ... I have a legal seat and was considering trying it but I got to thinking ... what makes this differnet than Suse, Fedora, Mandrake or Ubuntu? I have tried all 4 and I personally run Kubuntu 6.06 LTS now after all of them. As a windows user, SuSe was my favorite, but I feel paid software should provide support, so I donate to projects, not a label.

Well that was roundabout ... anyway, why should I do this if I run and like kubuntu?
