LXer: Will Microsoft Abandon Windows to Compete with Linux?

Published at LXer:

Is Windows 7 the final Version? As much as Microsoft loves to grinch about Linux, they've made significant changes over the years to compete with it--and will abandon it altogether to maintain their competitive edge. Windows 7 will be the last Windows product.

Yet another reason why bloggers should be ignored. Completely. The "fine" author gives absolutely no reason as to why Windows 7 will be the end of the line. As for the step after Windows 7 being Microsoft Desktop, the author should at very least explain what Microsoft Desktop means.

Dont realy know what the blogger is aiming at. Microsoft products are still a huge deal of the market, thay dont need to change anything realy since most "common joe" gets his "free" windows with every computer he buy.
Personaly i think the next step in desktop enviroments will be light, easy to use thin clients or netbooks with microsoft cloudcomputing. The only problem is that thay dont want to release that since the average computer life expectancy lenght is gonna be longer then today when you have to buy new computers more often mening more $$ for MS for every computer sold.

I'm developing a new theory about bloggers. Each new blogger causes an exponential decrease in IQ of all bloggers in existence. I have yet to find any evidence to the contrary......

Read the comments. It's supposed to be tongue in cheek.
