It’s no secret that I love free software; you don’t decide to start a magazine about it and stick with it for years unpaid if you don’t. While making Free Software Magazine, I learned a lot about free software and its ecology. What I discovered was sometimes exciting, sometimes disheartening.

I cannot understand how any Free software project can become "Abandonware". Clearly the author is missing the point of FOSS is that anybody can take the code and use it, so although individual projects may lack funding, ultimately there will be community support for development if there really is a need for that software.

i my opinion , its actually quite logical to say that it was abandoned because there really arent any needs for it anymore ...
