It's been a cheerily good spring for FOSS fans here in the Linux blogosphere, so we may perhaps be forgiven for our utter shock and disbelief at the affront recently committed against us by a certain brick-and-mortar purveyor of books and magazines. Barnes & Noble yanked the very excellent Linux Format magazine from its U.S. shelves -- apparently because of a cover story on the topic of "hacking."

So, this site is just a hangout for computer criminals then.
The ignorance of some people is frightening in the extreme. Besides, whatever use the media puts to it I refuse to equate "hacker" to "computer criminal". For a word with such heritage it's like referring to meth dealers as "Pharmacologists" or gun-toting thugs as "armourers".

Meh, they'll probably put it back once the "hacking" publicity settles down.
