Looks like the Debian background of Ubuntu developers is forcing Shuttleworth's hand to some degree. I think the only thing stopping Ubuntu from sticking every proprietary piece possible in the default installation is a certain rebellion on the part of the best developers.
This way Ubuntu can keep those people happy working on the free version. Shuttleworth, as a former DD himself shopuld understand what it takes to get along with them. |
