It seems that many in the Ubuntu community are horrified by this new wallpaper, and with reason. As one user put it, "It looks like a Chuck Norris fart on my computer!"
Seriously, I think someone opened the Lucid wallpaper in GIMP and smeared some poop-brown on it. I expected better from Canonical.

No, but I dare say that a better "first impression" can be easily accomplished. Even Lucid's default theme caused some complaining because the menu bars didn't match with the desktop.

Yes. This is the major inconsistency in the Ambiance theme: the menu bars have white text on a dark background, but the rest of the GTK theme has black text on a light background. ???
