Performance on my Ubuntu 10.04 desktop has been fairly consistent lately. I'm not sure whether or not my change in "swappiness" from the default of 60 to the supposedly desktop-friendly 10 has made any difference in actual speediness, but seeing swapping go from 9 MB per session down to nothing did make me feel better. And it's all about feeling better (or at least eliminating potential [if not real] causes of desktop sludginess). Read More... |
