LXer: Rhapsody: A Music Service for Linux Users

Published at LXer:

The idea of Rhapsody offering a Linux music service is fantastic, except for the fact that they have opted not to allow the full functionality offer to those in the Windows world. It really is a let down for Linux users, but is this something that we can blame Rhapsody for?

Found this searching for "Linux Music Service."
Am I alone in wanting to pay for my music?
Does anyone use a music service in Linux?

I am using Yahoo Unlimited (I hate it) right now, but I am not opposed to switching. However, it HAS to work on linux. Any suggestions?
At this point I guess I am at the mercy of internet radio and my music library.

It would be nice if it weren't just lip service.

Surely there are some Linux friendly music services out there. What do you guys use? (If anything)

I have been using Napster on my laptop for a while now. I tried Rhapsody, and they scared me with their shady practices. I would not recommend for ANYONE give these guys a credit card.

I came VERY close to having to cancel my credit card.

I like Napster. It was just what I was looking for, and I can access Napster via "home.napster.com" and be able to listen to subscription music on my laptop.
