One leading cybersecurity firm, Norse Corp., said Monday it has narrowed its list of suspects to a group of six people -- including at least one Sony veteran with the necessary technical background to carry out the attack, according to reports.

I think it was just a way for $ony to promote a stupid movie that nobody was gonna watch.

Yeah, pretty much. There's not a single reason for NK to care about that crappy movie, but Sony realised the movie sucks so they decided to promote it this way (reminds me of Half-Life 2 'leaked' code).
