The service would be on a yearly subscription basis, just like other anti-virus protection services. The service is designed to automatically patch-up security holes, as well as beef up anti-virus and spyware protection. Tried it on my Xp system it screwed up my internet connection. Microsoft should stick to trying to create a decent OS and leave the AV/malware to companies that know how to do it.

I wonder if they are going to keep distributing patches for free or decide that security subscriptions are a great revenue stream and charge for them?
