Similar was said at the release of Vista. Vista went on to not suck quite as badly, people waited and moved to Win 7.
For most corporates the amount of money invested in Microsoft products (99% of their IT budget) means they'll stick to windows. That means home users will too as they're not going to buy a laptop that looks unfamiliar and won't synchronise with their phone or run their favourite game or application.
