LXer: Microsoft continues earning money from Linux -- increases patent licensing agreements

If you choose to laugh at Microsoft over its mobile presence, feel free, but please know that Microsoft is laughing too; all the way to the bank. What you may not know is, Microsoft makes money from Android handset sales thanks to its patent portfolio. In fact, it also collects money from Chromebooks too. In other words, Microsoft is profiting from Linux, since both operating systems are based on the kernel. Today, Microsoft increases its number of patent licensing agreements, by making a deal with Qisda Corp.

I never laugh when this criminal enterprise which fronts as a technology company is mentioned. There is absolutely nothing funny about it in any context.
By any other name, this is nothing other than a protection racket shake-down, as are all of their undertakings. It is an abominable evil.
But the evil that makes this all possible is the abhorrent concept in law of intellectual property.
The idea of intellectual property is the enabler for all such rackets and ever increasing injustices, and is the single greatest impediment to human progress. It is the express train into the looming intellectual dark age and makes that darkness inevitable.
The human species can have no bright future until the evil of intellectual property in all forms is acknowledged for what it is, and until those who practice and profit by it are prosecuted for the criminals they are.

Wait, do you hear that? BOOM! That's the sound of your banishment from all MS sites.
I might have to dwell on your comment though, it is always a nice feeling when someone words something that you've been thinking just right.
