Kindle for PC is a free download for Windows XP, Vista, and 7 systems only. A Mac version is "coming soon," according to Amazon.

Actually....

KindleforPC will run on Linux using Wine, but there's some glitches (like menu text not visible). You CAN get and read your books though.
