LXer: Intel P55 Chipset Preview On Linux

Published at LXer:

This morning Intel has introduced their new mainstream desktop chipset, the Intel P55, and has brought forth the Core i5 processor family along with new Core i7 processors for use with this new chipset and socket. Intel sent us out a review kit of this new hardware so we are already able to comment on its Linux compatibility. In this article we are talking specifically about the Intel P55 and its Linux compatibility with regard to the Intel DP55KG motherboard while in the next article we have Ubuntu Linux benchmarks using an Intel Core i5 750 and Core i7 870.

I went out and bought 4 of them. How do I get the Intel Matrix Raid working?

Everything from BSD, Fedora 12, ----> Ubuntu. If there was a Zulu I would try it.

I just bought Red Hat Enterprise. It is not here yet. Hello!!!

The Unix Guy.

Did anyone read this yet?

I bought Partition commander 11, It will not partition the RAID Array. Even though Avanquest stated it would work.

I have been trying to get the Technical Documents from Intel to see if I can write the driver for the Fedora Community. Intel has been beyond non-responsive.

Does anyone know where I can get any Documentation on this chip-set? I am an accomplished C/C++ programmer. Anyone's help would be Partition commander, It will not partition the RAID Array.

Partition Commander only works under Windows XP. When I install in in Windows 7, a notification pops up that states this 64 bit OS is not supported.

chipset, intel
