Published at LXer:

"With the introduction of HTML5 and its implementation in all major web browsers, it's becoming clear that Adobe is now in a place where a lack of innovation from the company could cause not only a loss of profit for Adobe, but also the eventual abandonment and deprecation of the product "Adobe Flash" by every product and service that currently supports it."

I hope HTML5 is a death nail for Flash. I think it is irrelevant if Adobe decides to open Flash up or not. If enough people use HTML5, then Flash will no longer be relevant and hopefully fall into obscurity.

Also in this day and age, Flash is still a major CPU hog even on the latest CPUs. Its pathetic. It is more troublesome than it is worth, and I will be cheering for HTML5.

I want to see HTML5 working and working well before I can say that it will affect Adobe in any way.
