Its an interesting article, though I would say for low spec macs like my G3 (rev 4) Imac (333mhz 256mb ram, 40gb hdd) Xubuntu would perform (better than ubuntu) on such low specs. At the moment it runs OSX Panther ok, which feels little sluggish on the web these days. I also have a 400mhz 'Sawtooth' G4 which I have upgraded with 80gb and 60gb hdds, 2GB ram (4x 512 sticks), DVD writer and gigabit nic. This performs fine with OSX Tiger so I'd only consider Linux on it if I could dual boot (howto anyone?) or if Tiger became obsolete/no longer updates.
