LXer: Galaxy S5 fingerprint scanner hacked with glue mould

The fingerprint sensor on Samsung's Galaxy S5 handset has been hacked less than a week after the device went on sale. Berlin-based Security Research Labs fooled the equipment using a mould it had previously created to spoof the sensor on Apple's iPhone 5S.

Interestingly enough if you are using the Corporate edition of Google Apps and have "Require user to set passwords on their devices" the fingerprint reader is not considered secure enough and isn't an available authentication method.

Regarding fingerprint readers being "fooled" by a fake finger, not surprised to be honest!

So... the S5 is waterproof, I wonder if I can register my tongue print and just LICK the phone to unlock it....
