Not likely. The main problem is that you don't have possession of your data. Anyone ever have their on-line account for something hacked and taken over? Happens all the time. Tell my son that his fight with the provider to get his account restored (and allow him access to all his data) wont happen with clouds. With clouds, a virus attack will have so much more data to steal. And of course, the cloud providers will never share your data with someone else. Right. The idea of a cloud is just a recycled idea from 20years ago anyway. Remember dumb terminals accessing a main database? This really isn't much difference, just stretched over the internet instead of a single LAN. That's didn't prevent the desktop from taking off. This is just more wishful thinking from idealists.
