LXer: AT&T promises to lower your Internet bill if FCC kills net neutrality

If the Federal Communications Commission lets Internet service providers charge Web companies like Netflix for faster delivery of content to consumers, AT&T will lower its customers' Internet bills. That's what AT&T said Friday in a filing in the FCC's "Protecting and Promoting the Open Internet" proceeding.

Don't buy it, it's nonsense. Even if ATT decides to reduce prices, it will be of their own accord and temporary. Prices will go up, because ATT and other ISPs want to charge Netflix for using bandwidth ... they want a piece of the pie ... but you pay for the pie either way. You will pay more if net neutrality falls. Even if you don't use Netflix, they will find a way to throttle and coerce whatever you do use.
