LXer: Anonymous operating system prompts security warnings

Published at LXer:

More than 26,000 people have downloaded an operating system which members of the Anonymous hacker group claim to have created. The software is based on a version of the open-source operating system Linux and comes outfitted with lots of website sniffing and security tools. The "official" Anonymous group has distanced itself from the software. In a widely circulated tweet, AnonOps claimed the operating system was riddled with viruses.

I'm glad he's doing this, I will read the report as soon as it comes out. There's no way I'm using anything from this evil covert ops group. I mean what's wrong with Back Track, which most people already use ? Why use something from a bunch of evil haxxors ?

Because it was supposedly from Anonymous, who most people see as doing good things. Personally I believe the entire lulz, antisec, anon networks all work for the US government.
But some of the crap they pull is hilarious.

Some Linux distros that are actually made for Pen-testing:

What they do is not at all hilarious, in fact it has nothing to do with anonymity, only with illegal activities that they seem to get away with (unlike real non-govn't haxxors). They are trying to destroy our rights and our privacy using this covert ops project called Anonymous. I think they will succeed. I don't think "most" people support it ... at least those who can still think for themselves don't.

Backtrack is #1 on that list.
